Cassiana grew up in Brazil and obtained her BS in Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology – Paraná in 2016. During her undergraduate studies, she did research in organic chemistry and material science on the synthesis and characterizations of donor-acceptor polymers for application in OLEDs. After graduation, Cassiana worked as a chemistry teacher and as a researcher in the industry segment, in which she developed and managed innovation projects. In 2021, she was admitted to the Ph.D. Chemistry Program at Rutgers and she is interested to improve her skills in synthetic organic chemistry, developing new materials with fullerenes. Out of the lab, she likes to enjoy her free time riding a bike or hiking with friends. In addition, she needs a good cup of coffee during the morning in order to have an energetic day.
